Description

One console for the whole platform

Zeus is the single place from which the entire Pantheon is operated. Instead of a separate admin panel per service, with its own login, its own look and its own habits, there is one console: one sign in, one navigation, one set of conventions. Everything the platform can do is reachable from here, and nothing is reachable from here that the person signed in is not allowed to do.

What it gives you

One sign in for everything. Access is granted centrally, and the console simply reflects it. An operator who may only read sees a console with no destructive buttons in it; a colleague responsible for releases sees the release tooling and nothing from the mail side. Nobody has to maintain a second list of who may do what.

A console that admits what it does not know. Every screen distinguishes between "there is nothing here" and "this could not be loaded", and says which. Lists are paged rather than pulled whole, so a screen stays responsive whether it is showing twelve rows or twelve thousand.

Destructive actions that look destructive. Anything that removes data asks first, in plain language, and the button that confirms it is red. Routine work and irreversible work never look the same.

Light and dark. The console follows your preference and remembers it. Long sessions in a dark room are as comfortable as a bright afternoon.

Built for a desk, usable on a phone. The layout is designed for a wide screen, where operations work actually happens, and collapses sensibly when you need to check something from a train.

Who it is for

Whoever runs the platform. In a one person operation that is the owner; in a team it is whoever carries the pager this week, plus the people who only ever need one corner of it. The console is deliberately boring to use: dense where density helps, quiet where it does not, and never clever at the expense of being clear.
